Things People Said: Courtroom Quotations
From the page: "The following quotations are taken from official court records across the nation, showing how funny and embarrassing it is that recorders operate at all times in courts of law, so that even the slightest inadvertence is preserved for posterity.
* Lawyer: "Was that the same nose you broke as a child?"
* Witness: "I only have one, you know."
* Lawyer: "Now, Mrs. Johnson, how was your first marriage terminated?"
* Witness: "By death."
* Lawyer: "And by whose death was it terminated?""

FOXNews.com - Scientists Say Invisibility Cloak Now Possible - Science News | Science
From the page: "WASHINGTON â€" Scientists say they are a step closer to developing materials that could render people and objects invisible.
Researchers have demonstrated for the first time they were able to cloak three-dimensional objects using artificially engineered materials that redirect light around the objects. Previously, they only have been able to cloak very thin two-dimensional objects.
The findings, by scientists at the University of California, Berkeley, led by Xiang Zhang, are to be released later this week in the journals Nature and Science."

Jesus and Satan
Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better
on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God
was tired of hearing all the bickering. Finally fed up, God said,
‘THAT’S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that
will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the
better job.’
So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.
They moused.They faxed.They e-mailed. They e-mailed with attachments.
They downloaded. They did spreadsheets! They wrote reports.
They created labels and cards. They created charts and graphs.
They did some genealogy reportsThey did every job known to man.
Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.
Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed
across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the powerwent off..
Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known
in the underworld. Jesus just sighed.
Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted theircomputers.
Satan started searching frantically, screaming: ‘It’s gone! It’s all GONE! ‘I losteverything when the power went out!’Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.Satan observed this and became irate. ‘Wait!’ he screamed. ‘That’s not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don’t have
any?’
God just shrugged and said,
JESUS SAVES

A robot with a biological brain
Came accross this article; which I found particularily interesting.
Researchers at the University of Reading (is that where the reading railroad is?) are learning to create
brains in their lab and teach them to control robots! How much more like Frankenstein can you get?
The brains are grown from neurological cells, like you would find in your own brain, and are placed on
a pad that can recieve signals from the cell culture as well as stimulate the cells with small electronic
impulses.
When the brain sends messages to the electrodes, the electrodes drive the robot around in left/right directions,
when the robot approaches an object it sends a a message to the cells, which then in turn learn from
these messages.
Here's a a video explaining all about it. This seems to have some far reaching ideas about how our brains
actually work.

One dead, dozens sick from bacteria outbreak
I'm not one to typically post news stories, but the other evening, I happened to notice a TV advert from the President of Maple Leaf foods, apologizing for allowing bacteria to go undetected in some of the meat products, and although they ordered a complete recal when the problem was detected, it was too late, many people have gotten sick and even died.
It is not often that I hear the president of a company admitting to a mistake and apologizing for such a problem.
It is very sad day for those that have purchased this products and have (or will) become ill or have died.
For the complete story..

Debt!
From the page: "Without a budget and the right spending management tools do donâ€t really know how much money youâ€re really spending, do you? While the electronic age is making it easier to accomplish tasks, itâ€s also forcing more and more people into a downward spiral when it comes to their finances. Sure, having access to your money with a quick swipe of a card, whether itâ€s a debit card, check card or credit card, is great but it make keeping track of your spending much more difficult. Convenient spending, monthly access fees & service charges add up to one devastating reality â€" overspending, and through our experiences havenâ€t we all found that when you overspend once, itâ€s easier to do it again, and again, and again?"

Tiger Woods: The Jesus Shot
Tiger Woods can Walk on Water while golfing , a great viral video from EA Games.
Here's a funny example of marketing at work, and making fun of themselves in the process.
So I guess when they orginally released the 08 Tiger Woods golf game, there was a software glitch, a YouTube user noticed this glitch and uploaded it to YouTube for everyon to see.
Watch this video to see how EA Games responded! It's not a glitch! It's a feature.
