While driving home from a trip, three businessmen arrive at a hotel for the night. They ring the bell for the bellhop, and tell them this is there last stop. The bellhop proceeds to tell them the rooms at this hotel are $300per night. The business are short on money, so they decide to each pull together $100 and share the room.
The bellhop takes the money to the hotel manager in the back room and get the men's keys. The manager when recieving the $300 reminds the bellhop that tonight these room are on "special" and are only $250. The manager tells the bellhop to give back the remaining $50.
The bellhop shows the 3 men up to the room with the $50 in his pocket. Now, the bellhop wasn't sure how to devide the $50 among the three businessmen. So he decides to keep $20 for himself and give $10 each to the remaining 3 men. As he does this, he explains that the room was only $270, so each man was happy to recieve $10 back.
Now let's recap:
Each man thought they were paying $100/each for the room. But the bellhop, gave them each back $10, so they paid $90 each for the room. 3 x $90 = $270, and I've already told you the bellhop kept $20. $270 + $20 = $290... so who has the missing $10?
