Type of Program:
Website/Blog Review Service
Description:
What is ReviewMe?
Similar to PayPerPost, ReviewMe is a paid (sponsored) review service. Webmasters and blog authors can write reviews of products/services offered by ReviewMe and get paid for the reviews.
Benefits of ReviewMe include payment via PayPal, less restrictions than PayPerPost, an easy sign-up with a helpful FAQ. I am also hoping for quick payouts with small minimum $ but this is my first review and I will update as I learn more.
Important Tip: Sites reviewed though ReviewMe are sponsored, this means the reviewer is being paid for his/her opinion. Some people may not be a fan of this idea and may think it might create a biased view. However, ReviewMe does not force reviews to be good to get payment. There are currently only 2 small restrictions, reviews must be 200 words or less and must include reference that this is a sponsored review, and when you think about it, this is only fair. Bonus they do not seem to disallow other ads in the reviews, giving extra monetizing opportunites for webmasters/bloggers alike.
Oddities?: I am unclear as to the automatic algorithm that ReviewMe is using to approve bloggers sites. After setting up my membership, I tried five (5) different blogs that I help manage and only 1 of them was approved automagically. All of these blogs receive about the same amount of traffic. The only difference I could see was this blog was accepted and has a higher Technorati rating than the other blogs. I presume, therefore, that the Technorati API is a big part of the approval process.
No referral program yet :-( but their FAQ indicates they may have one in the next 30-60 days.
